Weekday masses are at the usual time of 9-30 am Monday to Friday. The weekly prayer meeting takes place at 8 pm on Monday and all are welcome. Items for inclusion in the weekly Parish Newsletter should be handed into the sacristy by 9-30am on Friday or contact Fr. Muiris O’Connor on 353711 or 0866075628. ASH WEDNESDAY: Next Wednesday, February 22, is Ash Wednesday, the commencement of Lent, and is a day of Fast and Abstinence. Ashes will be distributed at the morning and evening mass. Details of this year’s Trócaire Lenten Campaign will also be announced nationally.

PARISH ACCOUNTS: Details of the parish accounts giving income and expenditure for the year 2011 are now posted on the notice boards in Patrickswell and Ballybrown. Sincere thanks to all who contribute generously to the support of the parish on a regular basis especially in these times of difficulty and economic hardship for so many people.

BLOOD DONORS: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service requires three thousand donations every week, and donor clinics will be held in the following locations in the coming week, the Community Centre, Caherconlish, on Monday February 20 from 6 to 9pm, the Greenhills Hotel, Ennis Road, on Wednesday February 22 from 6 to 9pm, and at Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher, on Thursday February 23 also from 6 to 9pm.You can visit any blood donor clinic as long as ninety days have elapsed since you last gave blood, and you are urged to please give regularly. There will be donor clinics in Raheen, Foynes, and Castletroy the following week. For more information contact theDonor Information Line on 1850 731137, or their website.

LOURDES: The Diocesan Youth Ministry Team has been working with young people and other Lourdes volunteers to create a musical based on their Lourdes experiences. The production is going to be a weeklong fantastic musical event and will be staged at the end of March. More details in the coming weeks.

GAA: The Michael O’Brien Memorial Hurling Tournament will be staged from the end of February to mid March, and will be contested by teams from our own parish, Ballybrown, Croom and Sixmilebridge. The church gate collection which was held last weekend was well supported, and many thanks for your ongoing generosity to our fund raising.

WORLD VISION: An information evening for supporters of World Vision Ireland will take place in Pery’s Hotel, Glentworth Street, on Thursday February 23 from 7 to 9pm. All child sponsors and those interested in the work can learn how the money donated in Limerick is being used to change the lives of children in Africa. Light refreshments will be served.

ST. JOHN AMBULANCE: First Aid courses are being run by the organisation at Partry House, Parnell Street on Tuesday evenings. Classes commence at 7pm until 10pm, and the course will conclude with an examination on Tuesday March 27.
DOWN SYNDROME DOG NIGHT: Down Syndrome Ireland are hosting a nationwide greyhound racing night on Saturday February 25 to raise much needed funds for their ongoing work both nationally and locally. A great night of family fun and entertainment at great value is offered with family tickets costing just €20 for 2 adults and up to 4 children, and individual tickets €10. Limerick Greyhound Stadium will be taking part in the event, where the gate prize for those who purchase their tickets in advance will be 2 tickets to see Jedward in Cork. To be in with a chance to win please purchase your tickets before Saturday February 25.
