BLOOD DONORS: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service requires three thousand donations every week, and donor clinics will be held in the following locations in the coming week. The Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, Castletroy on Tuesday January 31, and Wednesday February 1 from 6 to 9pm, and Pallasgreen Community Centre on Thursday Febrary 2, also from 6 to 9pm. You can visit any blood donor clinic as long as ninety days have elapsed since you last gave blood, and you are urged to please give regularly. TIDY TOWNS: Would all members please note that the first meeting of 2012 will be held in the Cu Chulainn this coming Tuesday, January 31, commencing at 8pm.
COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Patrickswell Community Council are holding their AGM on Tuesday February 7 at 8pm in the Community Resource Centre. All are welcome to attend.
RESOURCE CENTRE: The Parent and Toddler Group, and the Crafty Corner Group are back following the Christmas-New year break. The Parent and Toddler group meets every Thursday morning from 9.30 - 11.00am, and the Crafty Corner group every Wednesday afternoon from 2 - 3.30pm. Both groups are very enjoyable for those attending, learning knitting/ crochet etc. at crafts on Wednesdays, and enjoying the fun while gaining support from the group leader and other parents of babies and toddlers on Thursday mornings. Both activities cost €2 per person, and all are welcome to attend at any time.
TABLE QUIZ: Patrickswell National School Parents Association are holding a Table Quiz this Friday January 27 at 8.30pm in the Cu Chulainn. Come along for the quiz, the chat and the fun. Excellent spot prizes. Cost per table of four, twenty euro. All funds raised on the night are towards the cost of new PE and science equipment for the school. Thank you for your continued support.

Work Access Ltd is an employment service that seeks to support people to gain and maintain employment in the open labour market.
The service is available to everyone with a disability including those with mental health difficulties within the Limerick city and county area. HONEYFITZ THEATRE: The launch of the book “Poetic Humour”, written by The Whitehouse, Limerick Poets and produced by Christy O'Donnell and John Carew, will take place in the Honeyfitz theatre in Lough Gur on Friday February 3 at 8pm, in aid of the Cliona Ring Foundation. There is free entry and free wine reception on the night with a very special guest appearance you will not want to miss. This is a night supporting a very worthwhile cause. SAMARITANS: Limerick Samaritans are seeking volunteers, and are holding an Open Night at 20 Barrington Street, this Monday January 30 at 7-30pm. If you are interested in becoming a Samaritan volunteer, or would like more information on the services they provide, this event would be of interest to you.
LOUGH GUR BIRD WATCH: The next meeting of the Limerick branch of Birdwatch Ireland, will be held this coming Saturday, January 28, commencing at 11am at Lough Gur car park. This is an important wintering location for many species including tufted duck, grebe, wigeon, teal and pochard. Suitable clothing is recommended, especially strong walking shoes, plus binoculars, but no dogs please.
RED CROSS: The Limerick branch of the Irish Red Cross is looking for new volunteers to join any of their ten branches across the city and county. An Open Night is being held this Thursday, January 26 at the Red Cross Hall in Henry Street for those interested in the work of the Red Cross, which includes First Aid Training and Community Defibrillation Groups. Drivers over the age of twentyfive with a full B or D1 licence are also sought for the ambulance and minibus fleet.
