TIDY TOWNS
We were delighted with the support for our annual table quiz which took place last Friday night at the Cu Chulainn. There were twenty two tables with all sections of the community represented which was indeed very heart warming. We thank Christy Murphy for hosting us again, and for his very generous sponsorship of the First Table Prize. We also acknowledge and are most grateful for all in the business community who sponsored spot prizes, and for the generous donation from the Community Council. P.J. O’Grady was also in sparkling form as quiz master, or at least he gave that impression, while Ann Ronan was her usual cool, calm, and collected self in charge of the score sheet. We are also indebted to Ciaran Crowe who set the questions. Many thanks to you all for helping to make it an enjoyable and profitable occasion.
WEDDING
The wedding has taken place in Wokingham, England, of Marcus Joseph Milburn, only son of Sam and Mary Milburn, Killonahan, Patrickswell, and Catherine Eylott, eldest daughter of John and Janet Eylott of Wokingham. Catherine was given away by her father, and the bridesmaids were Bethan Eylott the bride’s younger sister, and two of Catherine’s long time school friends, Katie and Lucey. Best Man was Ben Morse, friend of the groom from their university days in Glamorgan. The groomsmen were Conor Eahan and Mike McLoughlin two friends from Limerick. There were family members in attendance from as far away as Canada to share the couple’s happy day, as well as those from Wales and Bristol. Many other guests had travelled from various parts of the UK, and there was also a contingent from Limerick who Marcus had made friends with during his time working here. The reception and post wedding celebrations were held at Reading Moat House Hotel, and the honeymoon was spent in Turkey. Marcus and Catherine have set up home in Winnersh, Berkshire from where they will continue their careers. Marcus has been recently appointed Head of Media Studies at Shiplake College in Henley-on-Thames. Catherine is a freelance professional musician and also teaches music. The couple would like to thank everyone in Patrickswell who wished them well and sent wedding cards. Marcus and Catherine are wished every joy and blessing in their new life together.

Ann would particularly like to thank Christy Murphy and all at the Cu Chulainn for a wonderful evening, and also members of the Friday Club for the kindness shown to her on her special day.

Congratulations to Sarah and our thanks to all who supported the draw.
