TRÓCAIRE
Thank you for all Trócaire boxes which have been returned so far, and for all donations using the envelope scheme. As requested in the parish newsletter, could all boxes be returned as soon as possible so that the money can be forwarded. It would also greatly help if the smaller coinage could be changed into larger denominations or notes, to facilitate counting of the money. Envelopes are still available for those who wish to make a donation.
PARISH MISSION
A meeting regarding the Parish Mission will be held in Patrickswell Church this Monday April 12 at 8pm. It is an open meeting with Fr. Tadhg Herbert CSSR, and all are welcome to attend.
BLOOD DONORS
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service requires three thousand units each week and a donor clinic is being held at the Rathkeale House Hotel, this Monday April12 from 6 to 9pm.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP
The Parent and Toddler group will start back after Easter on Thursday April 15 in the Resource House. The group meets each week between 9.30 and11am, combining coffee and a chat for parents, with lots of activities for toddlers including arts and crafts, singing and fun, fun, fun! WASTE MINIMISATION SEMINAR
Limerick County Council in association with the Irish Peatland Conservation Council and Flynn Furney Environmental will be hosting a free Waste Prevention Event in the Courtney Lodge, Newcastle West on Tuesday April 27th at 7.30pm. NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN
To mark National Spring Clean 2010 organised clean ups will be held throughout the month of April. Limerick County Council and An Taisce encourage you and your community, club, association, etc. to take part. A Benefit Dance for the Limerick Association of London is being held at the Rathkeale House Hotel on Saturday April 17 at 10pm. Music will be by the ever popular Eddie Lee and Catriona. FIREARMS
Owners of licenced firearms will not be allowed to apply for a further extension to their existing licence if the extension granted last year by the Garda Commissioner expires. If the deadline is missed, all owners must apply for a new three year certificate.
TIDY TOWNS
Our annual church gate collection will be taken up at all masses next weekend, April 17 and 18, and we ask you to be as generous as you have been in the past. Your continued support for which we are extremely grateful, will enable us to implement our planting schemes as we enter into our tenth year of operations. Paddy Kiely was first out of the traps this year, bringing his mower out of hibernation and taking advantage of the fine weather before Easter.
RESOURCE CENTRE
A children’s Arts and Crafts Summer Camp will take place in the Resource Centre this year. An interesting programme of Arts and Craft Activities, games and much more besides will be arranged, with the emphasis on Fun for All. It is advised to book early as places are limited. SPECIAL OLYMPICS
The biggest fundraising event in aid of Special Olympics Ireland will take place all over the country on Friday April 23, with the aim of raising one million euro. Volunteers are required to assist with the collection on the day. One hour, a few hours, or whatever time you can spare would make all the difference. ÁRDSCOIL RIS
Commiserations to Árdscoil Ris especially the Patrickswell representatives, who were unsuccessful in the Croke Cup Final, against St.Kieran’s College, Kilkenny, which was played in Thurles on Saturday. There were no less than five Patrickswell players on the panel for the All- Ireland Senior A Colleges Championship which was successful in winning the Harty Cup. Hold your heads up Seán O’Brien (joint captain), Mark Carmody, Kevin O’Brien, Jack Kelliher, and Kelvin Lynch.

GOLF SOCIETY
Our captain for 2010, John O’Brien commenced his year in office by driving off at our outing in Portumna on March 13. The day was sponsored by Patrickswell GAA, and there was fine turnout of thirty seven members. Results will appear next week.
