This Saturday is recognized as The United Nations' (UN) World Day of Social Justice, and is annually observed on February 20 to encourage people to look at how social justice affects poverty eradication. It also focuses on the goal of achieving full employment and support for social integration, and the importance of social justice for all people. Trade unions and campaign groups are invited to call on their members and supporters to mark the day. The Russian General Confederation of Trade Unions declared that the common slogan would be "Social Justice and Decent Life for All!" The day was first observed in 2009.

SENIOR HELP LINE

This is a confidential listening service for older people by older people. Trained older volunteers offer a friendly, listening and non-judgemental ear to all callers, who may be experiencing loneliness, isolation, family or health worries, or suffering abuse or depression. The service operates from 10am to 4pm, and 7pm to 10pm every day of the year, and is only the price of a local call, LoCall 1850-440-444. The advice is not to be alone with any problem, “lifting the phone lessens the loneliness”.
