UNWANTED MEDICINES

From now until November 27, a free collection service for the safe disposal of all out of date medicines is available in local pharmacies. All products, whether over the counter remedies or prescription drugs, can be returned. This will reduce the risk of accidental poisoning in the home especially among small children, overdosing, or sharing of medicines, and reduce the potential of environmental damage if they are not disposed of properly. DUMP them now, Dispose Unused Medicines Properly.

FARMERS MARKET

A weekly Farmers Market is now being held at the Crescent Shopping Centre every Wednesday from 9-30am until 2-30pm, outside the City Mall entrance.

COFFEE MORNING

With Winter fast approaching, it's not easy to get out of the house and meet people. We now have a coffee morning every Wednesday from 10am to 12noon, come along to the Resource Centre, chat with your neighbours, and sit and relax in welcoming surroundings. For those who have transport, and have neighbours who would like to attend, why not bring them along with you, all are welcome.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Age Action Ireland are organising free basic computer classes for the over 55's at the Patrickswell Community Resource Centre. The aim of the "Getting Started" programme is to make older people comfortable using computers. Class sizes are small, with one volunteer tutor for every couple of students. Both the volunteers and the older people find the classes rewarding and fun. For volunteers, basic computer skills are needed, but patience and good humour are just as important, training is provided.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in Patrickswell, please contact Teresa on 061-320303, or e-mail patrickswellcrc@gmail.com
