FAMILY FUN DAY

Patrickswell Community Council would like to thank the many people who supported the recent fundraising for Coisceim Eile. A special word of thanks to the Active Retirement, Friday Club and the Tidy Towns . Just over €10,000 has been raised, and this would not have been possible without your help. Our thanks also to the GAA for allowing us use of the hall and field for the day. It was a great community effort and almost forty people assisted with the organization. The barbecue and cake sale were two of the big hits of the day. The wheel of fortune was also very successful and many thanks to all our sponsors. Michael Jackson won the adult fancy dress while the children's section was won by a great imitation of our local Tidy Town's Committee! Thanks to all who assisted with that.

GOLF SOCIETY

Our penultimate outing was held last Saturday in Charleville in lovely September sunshine. The course played very long with very tricky greens the order of the day, and local knowledge came to the fore with Gary Kirby , a member at Charleville, taking the honours with a great score of 36, which for his handicap is 6 over par.

1st Gary Kirby 36, Category A, 1st Derek O’ Curry 34, 2nd Pat Barry 33.

Category B, 1st John Murphy 34, 2nd Eddie Kiely 33.

Front 9 Liam Quinlan 21, Back 9 Frankie Nolan 17. The final outing is our captain’s prize in Killarney on October 17, and a great finish to the year is in store with Gary Kirby on 176 and Timmie Sheehan on 175, vying for the accolade of “golfer of the year”.
