DAWN MASS

A dawn mass will be celebrated on Easter Sunday in Mungret Cemetry, in the ruins of the old church, commencing at 5-15am, and all from the locality are invited to participate.

PASTORAL AREAS

A process has been ongoing in the Diocese of Limerick where all parishes have been grouped into clusters. The diocese has now also been divided into nine pastoral areas, which has meant changes for some, but Patrickswell remains with the cluster of Mungret, Crecora, Raheen, St.Paul’s, Our Lady of Lourdes, St.Saviour’s (Dominicans) and St.Joseph’s.

TIDY TOWNS

The fine, dry weather during the week presented the ideal conditions for grass cutting, and the mowers were out in force on Tuesday and Wednesday. All areas have now received their first cut. Saturday was also fine and dry, and the areas adjacent to the roundabout have been strimmed which will make it easier for the mowers from now on. Some of the shrubs near the wall at the roundabout also needed attention, and have been the subject of Mossie Carmody’s topiary and pruning skills. Lots done already, but still plenty to do, once we have the Spring Clean and litter pick out of the way. Our meeting last week was very well attended and all are eager to get going, as we start our ninth year of operations. We are looking forward to others coming on board to help out with our work this year, and there is no doubt that the village will be looking as good if not better than last year in the not too distant future.
