ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION: There was a flurry of activity at our penultimate gardening class last Friday, when the subject covered was winter containers. All those participating in the class were advised to bring a pot or window box complete with compost, to avail of a range of winter flowers and colourful shrubs, which Ailish our tutor had kindly provided. Some of the specimens were unusual which made for a lively and interesting debate during the course of making up the containers, and deciding which colours and textures were most suitable together. To end the class, we were treated to a most interesting and informative talk on the subject of beekeeping, given by our newest member who has taken up beekeeping as a hobby. The final gardening class for this term takes place this Friday at 10-30am in the GAA clubhouse.
