CHURCH NOTICES: Listed readers for this weekend, May 5-6 The Fifth Sunday of Easter, are as follows, Saturday at 7pm Ellen Foley, Sunday at 10am Niall Sheehy, and Sunday at 12noon Julie D’arcy. Eucharistic Ministers,Saturday at 7pm, Christy Murphy, Rita Madigan, Joe Tierney. Sunday at 12noon, Patrick Kirby, Noreen Quinn, Birdie Enright. Please arrange a replacement if you are unable to fulfill any duty allocated to you. This Friday May 4, is First Friday and there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 9-30 mass until 11am. Communion will be distributed to the sick. If you know of anyone who is sick or housebound who would like communion brought to them, please hand in their names to the sacristy. Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima will take place before the 7pm mass on Saturday. Weekday masses are at the usual time of 9-30am Monday to Friday. There will be no weekly prayer meeting on Bank Holiday Monday June 7. Items for inclusion in the weekly Parish Newsletter should be handed into the sacristy by 9-30am on Friday or contact Fr. BLOOD DONORS: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service requires three thousand donations every week, and donor clinics are being held at the following locations in the coming week; the Community Centre, Askeaton on Wednesday May 9 from 6 to 9pm, and the South Court Hotel, Raheen Roundabout, on Thursday May10 from 5 to 8pm.You can visit any blood donor clinic as long as ninety days have elapsed since you last gave blood, and you are urged to please give regularly. WEST LIMERICK DRAMA INITIATIVE: Those currently involved with community drama or those interested in getting involved are being invited to take part in a short acting and performance skills training workshop which will take place in Askeaton on Saturday May 12 and 19 from 10am-4.30pm each day.  Supported by West Limerick Resources the training is free of charge and will cover a wide range of acting and on-stage skills.  All levels of experience catered for. NEW SPORTS PROGRAMME: West Limerick Resources and Broadford Community Enterprise Centre Ltd, are working together to develop a new Sports Pilot Programme based in the Broadford Enterprise Centre. Delivered with the support of the County Limerick Local Sports Partnership and County Limerick VEC, the course content will include Active Leadership Training, Health & Nutrition, Athletics Leadership Course with Athletics Ireland, Kick-Start 1 and 2 with the FAI, Code of Ethics, Personal Effectiveness and Work Experience FETAC Level 4. There will be opportunities to progress to further education and training options or work based options on completion of course. RESOURCE CENTRE: Through the Community Council, a diverse range of activities, services and information is readily available at the Resource Centre including all HSE and Social Welfare forms. The FÁS Jobs Board is updated daily, and a photocopying and typing service is also offered. The Citizens Information Service can also be contacted, call in and see the notice board for dates. A free confidential counselling service can also be requested. The weekly 45Drive takes place every Thursday night at 9pm sharp, everybody welcome. FIRE FIGHTERS: International Firefighters' Day (IFFD) will be observed this Friday, May 4. It was instituted due to the deaths of five firefighters in tragic circumstances in a wildfire in Australia. May 4 used to be a traditional Firefighters' Day in many European countries, because it is the day of Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters.

10K FUN RUN: Mungret - St.Pauls GAA are again hosting a 10k Fun Run-Walk this year, which will be held on Sunday May 20 in aid of Limerick Marine Search and Rescue, and Enable Ireland. Entry fee is 20Euro per person, and the event will commence at 1-30pm. A large entry is anticipated and late entries will be accepted on the day at the clubhouse from 10am until 12noon.
