Please arrange a replacement if you are unable to fulfill any duty allocated to you. Weekday masses are at the usual time of 9-30 am Monday to Friday. The weekly prayer meeting takes place at 8 pm on Monday and all are welcome. This Friday, December 2 is First Friday and there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 9-30 am mass until 11am. Communion will be distributed to the sick. If you know of anyone who is sick or housebound who would like communion brought to them on Friday, please hand in their names to the sacristy. Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima will take place before the 7pm mass on Saturday. Items for inclusion in the weekly Parish Newsletter should be handed into the sacristy by 9-30am on Friday or contact Fr. Muiris O’Connor on 353711 or 0866075628. Alternatively they can be emailed to muirisoc@eircom.net During the Saturdays of Advent, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Prayer Room, from 9am until 12noon.
BLOOD DONORS: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service especially requires O+ donations this week, and donor clinics are being held at the Pastoral Resource Centre, Kilmallock, on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 6 and 7 from 6 to 9pm, and at the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare, on Thursday December 8, also from 6 to 9pm.You can visit any blood donor clinic as long as ninety days have elapsed since you last gave blood, and you are urged to please give regularly. There will be donor clinics in Castleconnell and Castletroy the week commencing December 12. For more information contact the Donor Information Line on 1850 731137, or their website.
CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: Many thanks for your support and generosity at last weekend’s church gate collection, which was in aid of the Redemptorists’ Annual Christmas Poor Campaign.
VOLUNTEERING: If you have been thinking of volunteering, want an opportunity to make a difference, to feel needed and be enriched by the experience, why not come along to a Brothers of Charity Services, Limerick, information session and open day, for people interested in volunteering with the organisation in the Training Room, Lakeview, Bawnmore, Limerick between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 on Tuesday, December 6. You will find you have skills and interests, which you can share to enhance the lives of adults with a learning disability in our services. If you are a walker, a listener, have a sense of fun, enjoy going to the cinema and are willing to partake in individual or group activities, come along and over a cup of tea or coffee you’ll be glad you took that first step. CREDIT UNION: The Board of Directors of MPCC Credit Union would like to remind all members that the A.G.M. takes place on Tuesday, December 6 at 8pm, in Mungret-St. Paul’s GAA Club in Mungret. All members are invited and encouraged to attend, as you have the right to know about the Credit Union. Your questions and suggestions are therefore important and always welcome. GREYHOUND BUS: A bus will be available from Main Street, Patrickswell, for the Christmas Greyhound Racing Night at the Greyhound Stadium, Dock Road, this Friday December 2. It will leave the village at 7pm, with the return time to be arranged with the driver. The return fare is €5 per person, and to book a seat, contact the Resource Centre on 061-320303.
COFFEE AND CAKES: A Coffee Morning and Cake Sale, in aid of Patrickswell Community Playschool, will be held this Sunday, December 4, in the Cu Chulainn, commencing at 12-30pm, and your support would be greatly appreciated by all who use and run this community facility.
SUSTAINABLE ENERGY REGION INITIATIVE LAUNCH:
Duncan Stewart is to officially launch The West Limerick Sustainable Energy Region Initiative this Saturday, December 3, at 3pm in the Courtenay Lodge Hotel, Newcastle West. This is National Pilot Initiative led by West Limerick Resources in co-operation with SEAI, to develop West Limerick into a Sustainable Energy Region. RAINBOWS PEER SUPPORT PROGRAMME:
The Rainbows Peer Support Programme for children grieving loss or separation has a number of places available for the following age group 6 to 10 years. This programme is planned to begin in January 2012 in Abbeyfeale. WORLD DAYS: Saturday December 3 is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It aims to increase the understanding of the issues around disabilities, and to draw attention to and re-affirm the rights of people who live with disabilities, including their dignity and well- being. It also aims to increase the awareness of the gains for everybody if disabled persons are integrated into all aspects of political, social, economic and cultural life.
