All proceeds from the event will be going towards a new community development in Patrickswell. Admission to the event is €10, with children under 10 free.
Attractions for the children will include bouncing castle, slides, roundabouts, a laser game (where the adults will want to become children again), and face painting.
The market stalls will provide home produce, arts and crafts, gardening items, and that great feeling we all get from strolling and browsing around a market on a summers day.
With such a spectacular venue, and so many items of interest, a very enjoyable day is expected to be had by all.
TIDY TOWNS
As one major project reaches completion, so another one starts. We have taken delivery of a load of top soil in order to reseed the grass verges adjacent to the recently repaired walls at the top end of the village. When that is complete we hope that our efforts will be respected, and the area will be allowed to grow and mature, without the problem of trucks, lorries and tractors and such like causing unnecessary damage and deterioration.
Our eminent executive stonemason, complete with seasonal Panama hat, and his equally able apprentice, complete with cigarette, have now brought their stonework project to fulfillment, finishing the stone surround to the bed opposite where Lucey’s petrol pumps used to be. We are grateful to Richie and Mossie for all their efforts in providing additional planting areas. Their work has not gone unnoticed with the surround at the sign on the Limerick side being likened to a wishing well. The area adjacent to the Clarina Road junction is looking magnificent with Fergus Kilcoynes display at the Dark Horse, tubs outside the hairdressers, and a lovely range of hanging baskets and window boxes being carefully tended at the Resource Centre, which all add to the overall appearance approaching the village from the Limerick side. Well done to all concerned.

CREDIT UNION
MPCC, your local Credit Union, operates savings schemes in the local primary schools including Patrickswell, Crecora, St. Nessan’s, St. Paul’s, Ballybrown and Educate Together in Mungret. We would like to thank the children, their parents, guardians, the teaching staff and management in each of the schools for their support throughout the year. Educating young people to take responsibility for their own savings and to reap the benefits of saving with the Credit Union is an important issue for the Credit Union movement. With the summer holidays almost upon us, we now wish to remind all school Credit Union members that you can continue to save during the holidays by calling directly to any office of MPCC Credit Union during our opening hours, which are available on our website www.mpcccreditunion.ie. Thanks again to all the children who save in their school savings scheme and we look forward to seeing you all again in September when the school Credit Union re-opens. New members are always welcome to join the school Credit Union. For those of you lucky enough to be heading off to sunnier climes during the holidays and in need of foreign currencies, we remind you that MPCC Credit Union offers foreign exchange facilities to its members with low commission and competitive exchange rates.
