Patrickswell news for w/e May 7th

CHURCH NOTICES

Listed readers for this weekend May 8-9, The Sixth Sunday of Easter, are as follows;

Saturday at 7pm Lena Mary Houlihan, Sunday at 10am P.J.O’Grady, Sunday at 12noon Dan Riordan. Eucharistic Ministers, Saturday at 7pm M.Houlihan, J.Collopy, M.Bucke. Sunday at 10am, K.Enright, R.Kelliher. Sunday at 12noon M.McDermott, E.O’Shea, R.Fitzgerald. Please arrange a replacement if you are unable to fulfill any duty allocated to you. This Friday, May 7, is First Friday, and there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 9-30 am mass until 11am. Communion will be distributed to the sick.

Weekday masses are at 9-30 am Monday to Friday. The weekly prayer meeting takes place on Monday at 8pm and all are welcome.



PARISH NEWSLETTER

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

The First Holy Communion Ceremony for pupils of Patrickswell National School will take place this Saturday May 8 commencing at 11am in the church of The Blessed Virgin.



ROSARY

The Rosary will be recited at the grotto in honour of Our Lady on Thursday May 13 at 7pm. All are welcome.



BLOOD DONORS

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service requires extra donations after the Bank Holiday and will be holding donor clinics at the following locations; Foynes Community Centre Monday May 10 from 6 to 9pm, Askeaton Community Centre Tuesday May 11 from 6 to 9pm, Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, Castletroy, Wednesday May 12 from 6 to 9pm, and Knockainey Community Centre Thursday May 13 from 6 to 9pm. You can visit any blood donor clinic as long as ninety days have elapsed since you last gave blood. There will be donor clinics in Caherdavin and Manister next week. WORLD DAYS

Monday May 10 is recognised as International Mothers Day, Tuesday 12 is International Nurses Day, and May 15 is the International Day of Families. This was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1992. The theme for this year’s family celebration is: "The impact of migration on families around the world".



GOLF SOCIETY

Lahinch is the venue for our next outing on Saturday May 15.







HAPPY HEART WEEKEND

Next weekend May 13, 14 and 15, is the Irish Heart Foundation’s national fund raising event, and volunteer collectors are required to help them reach their target of €650,000.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

The Parent and Toddler meets each Thursday in the Resource Centre between 9.30 and11am, combining coffee and a chat for parents, with lots of activities for toddlers including arts and crafts, singing and fun, fun, fun! RESOURCE CENTRE

Services available include all HSE and Social Welfare forms. The FÁS Jobs Board is updated daily, and a photocopying and typing service is also offered. The Citizens Information Service is also in attendance every Thursday from 10-30am until 12-30pm. The service which is delivered by professional staff is free, confidential and impartial. A free confidential counselling service can also be requested. Computer classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday, and cookery classes every Friday from 7-9pm. The weekly 45Drive takes place every Thursday night at 9pm sharp, everybody welcome. The Active Retirement Group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays commencing at 7-30pm. The Parent and Toddler Group meets on Thursdays from 9-30 to 11am, and new members are always welcome. WORK ACCESS
