CHURCH NOTICES
Readers for this weekend February 6-7, The Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, are as follows; Saturday at 7pm Eileen O’Brien, Sunday at 10am Rosemary Kelleher, Sunday at 12noon Angela O’Donnell. Eucharistic Ministers Saturday at 7pm E.O’Byrne, R. Madigan, J.Tierney. Sunday at 10am, N.Murray, P.J.O’Grady. Sunday at 12noon B.Enright, N.Quinn, P.Kirby. Please arrange a replacement if you are unable to fulfill any duty allocated to you. Weekday masses are at 9-30 am Monday to Friday. The weekly prayer meeting takes place every Monday, and has reverted back to the usual time of 8pm, all are welcome. This Friday, February 5, is First Friday, and there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 9-30 am mass until 11am. Communion will be distributed to the sick. Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima will take place before the 7pm mass on Saturday.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION
There will be a Church gate collection at all masses on 13th and 14th February towards the Patrickswell Senior Citizen's Party. Please give generously.
DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING
Training is to take place on the use of the defibrillators located in the village. If anyone is interested, please contact Teresa at the Resource Centre on 061-320303 or e-mail patrickswellcrc@gmail.com. Cost of training is €50 per person.
BLOOD DONORS
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding donor clinics during the coming week at the following locations; Greenhills Hotel, Ennis Road, Monday February 8 from 6 to 9pm and the South Court Hotel, Raheen, Tuesday February 9 from 5-8pm.Next week’s clinics will be at Castletroy and Mulgrave Street. VALENTINES PARTY
If you have not yet decided where to go for St.Valentine’s night this year, this is a reminder that West Limerick Cancer Concern Group is organizing its 4th Annual Valentines Night in aid of MWCF and Milford Hospice on Friday February12th in The Woodlands House Hotel, Adare. Tickets are priced at €35 per person for a four course meal, music by The Deerhunters, and a disco till late. Valentines party games are also included. WORLD DAY
Next Thursday, February 11, is the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is also the World day of the Sick, which was created by Pope John Paul II in May 1992, a year after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since 1993 it has been celebrated on this day because many pilgrims and visitors to Lourdes have been healed by the intercessions of The Blessed Virgin. John Paul wrote much on the subject of suffering, believing that it was “a salvific and redeeming process through Christ”, as was indicated in his letter, “Salvifici Doloris”.
LATIN MASS
There is a change to the timetable of Latin Masses which are celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Dublin Road. They now commence at 10-30am on the first and third Sunday of each month.
DRAFT COUNTY PLAN
The Draft County Development Plan 2010 -2016 and associated documents are now available to be viewed in the Resource Centre during normal working hours until Friday January 29.
RESOURCE HOUSE
The Citizens Information Service is available every Tuesday from 1-2pm. No appointment necessary, just drop in. The weekly 45Drive takes place every Thursday night at 9pm sharp, everybody welcome.
SENIOR HELP LINE
This is a confidential listening service for older people by older people. Trained older volunteers offer a friendly, listening and non-judgemental ear to all callers, who may be experiencing loneliness, isolation, family or health worries, or suffering abuse or depression. The service operates from 10am to 4pm, and 7pm to 10pm every day of the year, and is only the price of a local call, LoCall 1850-440-444. The advice is not to be alone with any problem, “lifting the phone lessens the loneliness”.
ARTHRITIS IRELAND
The award winning programme, “Living well with Arthritis”, is being run in Limerick by Arthritis Ireland, and will take place at the Southcourt Hotel for six Thursdays from February 11 to March 18 from 7 to 9-30pm. The cost of the course is €20 per person, and is designed for people to learn self-management skills and techniques in coping with their condition. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
This is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. The event is celebrated worldwide on March 8, and this year’s theme is, “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity, Progress for all”. West Limerick Resources propose to hold a one day festival in the Desmond Complex, Newcastle West on Sunday March 7, to showcase and celebrate women from all walks of life including business, arts, charities and community. This family friendly event will be open to the general public, and WLR are currently seeking expressions of interest from those interested in taking part in the festival in any way.
