Patrickswell news for w/e December 11th

CHURCH NOTICES

Listed readers for masses this coming weekend, December 12-13, The Third Sunday in Advent are as follows; Saturday at 7pm Dan Riordan, Sunday at 10am Joe Tierney, Sunday at 12noon Lena Mary Houlihan. Eucharistic Ministers, Saturday at 7pm M.Houlihan, J.Collopy, M.Bucke. Sunday at 10am, K.Enright, R.Kelliher. Sunday at 12noon M.McDermott, E.O’Shea, R.Fitzgerald. Please arrange a replacement if you are unable to fulfill any duty allocated to you. Weekday masses are at 9-30 am Monday to Friday. For the two remaining Saturdays in Advent there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 9am till 12noon, in the meeting room. The weekly prayer meeting takes place on Monday evening at the new time of 7-30pm and all are welcome.

CREDIT UNION

The Board of Directors of M.P.C.C. Credit Union would like to advise all its members that the A.G.M. will take place this Tuesday, December 15 @ 8.00pm in Mungret / St. Paul's GAA Club in Mungret Village. All members are invited to attend and a free prize draw will take place on the night for those in attendance. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. Members are further advised that the Dooradoyle office does not open until 10.30am on Tuesdays, in order to facilitate staff training. Christmas opening times for Patrickswell are as follows; Friday December 18, 2-7pm, Wednesday December 23 and 30, 2-5pm, Friday January 8, 2010, 2-7pm.

Would all organisations, clubs and societies please note that the next monthly newsletter, which is sponsored by the Community Council, will be the bumper Christmas edition, and published on or around December 18. If anyone would like notes, Christmas Wishes or New Year Messages in this edition, please forward them to Evelyn by this Thursday December 10.



CONCERT

The Christmas Concert which is in aid of Patrickswell Community Playschool takes place this Friday, December 11 in the Cu Chulainn commencing at 8-30, with admission priced at just €10. Rehearsals have been going ahead at a frantic pace, and even behind closed doors in some cases. All involved promise a Winter Wonderland of seasonal entertainment and Christmas Craic for the enjoyment of all those lucky enough to be there. The raffle will have a fabulous assortment of Festive Fayre on offer, and there will also be spot prizes and perhaps some surprises too. Make this your Christmas night out.



CHRISTMAS LEADER

Would all contributors please note that next week’s Community Notes will be the last until the issue dated January 9.There will be no Community Notes for the two issues dated December 26 and January 2. Items to be included for December 19 will need to be submitted by this Sunday, December 13, and Sunday January 4 for issue dated January 9.



PASSION PLAY

The Oberammergau Passion Play which is performed once every ten years, takes place next year. Joan Bourke is organizing a seven night trip from August 2-9, which will include a performance of the play, and also a visit to Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. NEW YEAR, NEW START

Calling all those looking for new skills, new experiences or a new start! If you've been out of work for a long time, for whatever reason, West Limerick Resources is offering you a unique opportunity to sample a range of skills as part of the Towards Occupation Training Programme this January in Patrickswell. Featuring a combination of skills training, career guidance and personal support, the training programme will consists of a range of short term workshops including a brief introduction to computers, arts and crafts, health and relaxation, and work preparation skills. PARENT AND TODDLER PLAY GROUP

A play facilitator will attend on Thursday morning to make Christmas crafts with the group. Please note that there will be no session in the Resource House the following week, December 17, as the group will be visiting Santa that day. FREE PRESCHOOL YEAR

All children aged between three years three months and four years six months are eligible to avail of the free preschool year in January 2010. Those interested in availing of the scheme must be registered in their preschool before December 18th. Contact your local preschool facility to register.
