TIDY TOWNS
The results of the Limerick in Bloom Competition will be announced at an Awards Ceremony which is taking place at the Woodlands House Hotel on Thursday November 20th. This is the first year of this particular competition which is being run in conjunction with Shannon Development, and the Community and Enterprise section of Limerick County Council.
CONCERT
With only four weeks to go, the running order is now confirmed, and rehearsal activity has stepped up a gear. All those involved are looking forward to putting on another first class show on the night of Friday December 12, with proceeds being shared between Limerick Animal Welfare, and Patrickswell Senior Citizens Club. Tickets, which are priced at 10Euro, are available from Julie D’arcy, Denise O’Carroll and at the Cu Chulainn. There will also be some fabulous prizes available for those attending on the night.
DREAM TICKET
Good luck to local man, Ger Bourke, who will be making an appearance on RTE’s popular game show this week. Ger’s name was second out of the machine on last week’s show, and we wish him well as he travels to Dublin to take part.
GAA
It was a weekend of two halves and a case of mixed fortunes for our underage hurlers last weekend. County Honours were contested in two finals and unfortunately the u14’s were unsuccessful in their encounter with Adare on Saturday. It was a different story on Sunday however when our minors were victorious over Na Piarsaigh in their long awaited replay, on a score line of 1-10 to 1-5. A victory that was well deserved, and well received, and many congratulations to all concerned. Congratulations also to the three members of the club who have been named as Limerick City Board All Star Award Winners. They are John O’Regan, Minor Hurling, Paul O’Grady, Junior B Football, and Ciara Ryan, Intermediate Camogie.
