CONCERT
With only three weeks to go, the running order is now confirmed, and rehearsal activity has stepped up a gear. The programme will be an interesting mix of seasonal fare, rock, pop and dancing, with traditional and international stars making an appearance for good measure. All those involved are looking forward to putting on another first class show on the night of Friday December 12, with proceeds being shared between Limerick Animal Welfare, and Patrickswell Senior Citizens Club. Tickets, which are priced at €10, are available from Julie D’arcy, Denise O’Carroll and at the Cu Chulainn. Why not make this your Christmas night out, the craic will be mighty, and there will be some fabulous spot prizes on offer. See you there.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
A campaign entitled, “ 16 Days of Action against Violence against Women” begins on Tuesday, November 25, and runs until Wednesday, December 10, International Human Right’s Day. This year is the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and for this reason the theme for the campaign is, “Human Rights for Women, Human Rights for All”. The Limerick Area Network is distributing a 16 Day Toolkit, and is encouraging groups, committees and staff teams to support this international campaign. GAA
It was a weekend of two halves and a case of mixed fortunes for our underage hurlers on the weekend of November 8-9. County Honours were contested in two finals and unfortunately the u14’s were unsuccessful in their encounter with Adare. It was a different story on the Sunday however when our minors were victorious over Na Piarsaigh in their long awaited replay, on a score line of 1-10 to 1-5. A back to back victory that was well deserved, and well received, and many congratulations to all concerned. Congratulations also to the three members of the club who have been named as Limerick City Board All Star Award Winners. They are John O’Regan, Minor Hurling, Paul O’Grady, Junior B Football, and Ciara Ryan, Intermediate Camogie.

BLOOD DONORS
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service has called for donors to come forward to give blood. The service said donation rates have been slow in recent weeks, and it was unable to meet all demands for supplies from hospitals. It said in particular, blood stocks for groups A positive and O negative were needed. Regular donors who have not given in the last ninety days, and those who have not given blood in the last three years are asked to come to their local clinics around the country. A donor session is being held next Wednesday, November 26 at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel from 6-9pm. For more information the Donor Info Line is 1850 731 137, or log onto IBTS.

CONGRATULATIONS
Local man Ger Bourke came away smiling at the weekend after his participation on the RTE National Lottery game show. Ger received great support from family members and friends who had travelled with him for the occasion, many making their first appearance on national television, with rousing cheers and jubilation in abundance every time Patrickswell was mentioned during the course of the programme. Congratulations Ger, enjoy your good fortune.

GOLF SOCIETY
Our Annual General Meeting will be held in The Cu Chulainn Bar this Thursday, November 20 at 9 pm. Members and intending members are welcome to attend. Congratulations to Kieran Carroll who was recently appointed Vice Captain of Adare Manor Golf Club. Timmie Sheehan and Eamonn Kelleher featured in the prizes last weekend in a fourball competition in Adare Manor.
