TIDY TOWNS: Our first meeting since March was held on Tuesday August 30, and very well attended. There was general agreement that the floral displays, beds, baskets and containers this year were the best for some time. They are still providing a welcome burst of colour throughout the village, which hopefully will continue for some time yet, even though the autumnal harbingers are already present with foliage changing colour, a change in temperatures generally, and the nights closing in. The recent sponsorship from MPCC Credit Union has been a great lift, and was the subject of much conversation, with all in agreement that it was a wonderful gesture, and for the work and success of the group to be recognised in such a way. Ideas were forthcoming for a winter planting scheme, and there was no shortage of ideas either for next year. We will be holding our annual table quiz sometime in October, and look forward to your continued support.
