TIDY TOWNS
Our next meeting will be held this coming Tuesday March 29 in the Cu Chulainn at 8pm. April is National Spring Clean Month and we have registered with An Taisce to be part of Ireland’s biggest anti-litter campaign. We will be tackling the usual areas which are the cause of most concern, and weather permitting our campaign will get underway the following Tuesday which is April 5. If anyone would like to join us for the litter pick or indeed help us in any way during the year we would be glad to hear from you.
CARERS ASSOCIATION
The second National Dog Walk to raise funds for the Carers Association is being held on Easter Monday April 26. The Limerick walk of five kilometres takes approximately two hours, and is being supported by the Petmania store at the Jetland Centre, Ennis Road, from where the walk will commence and finish. The registration fee is five euro for one dog or ten euro for a family. The association exists to support carers who are currently feeling the brunt of cuts made in all directions. Donations in lieu of the walk can be made directly to the Carers Association. To register and for more information visit www.carersireland .com or call 1800-240724.
GOLF SOCIETY
Our first outing took place in Adare Golf club on Sunday March 13. March being a month of much mixed weather, this one didn’t disappoint as we had a two hour delay because of frost, but the day turned out to be cold but dry for the occasion. The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of all the members, 62 in all which is a record for our first outing. This augurs well for the turnouts for the rest of the year.

ARDSCOIL RIS
Many congratulations to the Ardscoil Ris hurlers who ran out fine winners
against Castlecomer in Templemore on Saturday in the All Ireland Colleges SHC Semi-Final, 2-16 to 6points. The side includes a contingent of Patrickswell players, who also featured in last year’s team. There was radio coverage of the game although not a full commentary, and Mark Carmody was described as working like a tiger, and making some great scores. We wish them all the very best of luck in their All Ireland Final in Thurles on Saturday week April 2.
