SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics Ireland is currently running its 2009 fundraising campaign. Our All Ireland Collection Day is taking place this Friday, April 24 in every large town and city across the island of Ireland. Special Olympics changes lives every day. It changes the lives of people with a learning disability by giving them a real opportunity to achieve in life, through sport. Participation in Special Olympics enables athletes to develop both physically and emotionally. They make new friends, realise their dreams, and know they can fit in and belong in a way that was not possible before. The focus in Special Olympics is on achievement and ability not on disability. People interested in volunteering for our National Collection Day should contact Gaye Moore at 061-210676 or 087-2766012 or email limerick@specialolympics.ie.
